CAPE ELIZABETH — Cape Elizabeth has hired Jane Golding, a Washington, D.C.
educator and former director of instructional support in Yarmouth, as its new
director of instructional support.
Golding will succeed Dominic DePatsy, instructional support
director since 2006, who is leaving for the same position in Regional School
Unit 5 in Freeport, Durham and Pownal.
Golding' nomination was approved by the School Board on June
14.
Golding has been the director of Targeted Student Support in
the District of Columbia Public Schools in Washington, D.C. since 2009. For 10
years before then she was the director of instructional support in Yarmouth.
Golding was also assistant director of special services for
Portland schools from 1988-1999; and, department chairwoman and a
special-education teacher at Westbrook High School from 1976-1988. She has
experience as an elementary school teacher, and taught reading to non-reading
adults and to youth at the Maine Youth Center juvenile correctional facility.
