Police arrest man for robbing store twice

SOUTH PORTLAND — A South Portland man has been charged with robbing the same Big Apple convenience store twice in one week.

Harold Adams, 44, was arrested shortly after police say he attempted to rob the store at 90 Western Ave. in South Portland just after midnight on Friday, Oct. 7.

According to police, Adams entered the store brandishing a knife and demanded cash from the store clerk. After a brief struggle, the suspect fled the store without receiving any money. South Portland police arrested him shortly thereafter. He has been charged with class A robbery.

Following a brief investigation, police also charged Adams with a similar robbery at the same location that occurred Sunday, Oct. 2.

Adams is being held at Cumberland County Jail on $100,000 cash bail.
